The cost to rent a van in Singapore at C&P Rent-A-Car starts at $115 a day for a Nissan NV200 and tops out at $215 for a 13-seat Toyota Hiace commuter, before 9% GST. With the Category C COE at $92,144 on 23 September 2026, renting is still the cheaper option for short jobs. Here is what each van costs, and what gets added on top, across C&P’s Singapore car rental and leasing services.
How much does it cost to rent a van in Singapore per day in 2026?
A self-drive van from C&P Rent-A-Car costs $115 to $215 per 24-hour rental period. Add 9% GST and that becomes $125.35 to $234.35. The Nissan NV200 is the cheapest van in the fleet, and the two Toyota Hiace commuters cost the most.
| Van size | Model (registration years) | Gearbox | Payload | Daily rate | With 9% GST | Own-damage excess |
| Small panel | Nissan NV200 (2016 to 2019) | Manual | 752 kg | $115 | $125.35 | $2,000 |
| Small panel, long wheelbase | Citroen Berlingo L2 1.6A (2017 to 2018) | Auto | 890 kg | $125 | $136.25 | $2,000 |
| Small panel, long wheelbase | Citroen Berlingo L2 1.5A (2019 to 2021) | Auto | Not listed | $145 | $158.05 | $2,000 |
| Small panel, long wheelbase | Peugeot Partner LWB (2019 to 2021) | Auto | 850 kg | $145 | $158.05 | $2,000 |
| Mid-size panel | Nissan NV350 (2016 to 2018) | Auto or manual | 1,440 kg | $155 | $168.95 | $2,000 |
| Mid-size panel | Toyota Hiace Standard Roof Van (2016 to 2021) | Auto or manual | 1,120 kg | $155 | $168.95 | $2,000 |
| High-roof panel | Toyota Hiace High Roof Van (2017) | Auto | 1,220 kg | $175 | $190.75 | $3,000 |
| High-roof panel | Renault Master (2015) | Auto | Not listed | $175 | $190.75 | $3,000 |
| Passenger, 11 seats | Toyota Hiace Standard Roof Commuter | Auto | Passengers | $215 | $234.35 | $3,000 |
| Passenger, 13 seats | Toyota Hiace High Roof Commuter (2017 to 2021) | Auto | Passengers | $215 | $234.35 | $3,000 |
Rates and excess from C&P’s July 2026 retail rate card. Payloads from C&P’s commercial vehicle guide.
Every rate includes unlimited mileage, third-party insurance with a collision damage waiver, and maintenance. Fuel is on you. The live self-drive fleet list shows which vans are free on your dates.
Neighbouring tiers are only $10 to $40 apart, and a van that’s too small costs you more than that. Two runs in an NV200 eat half a day. For $40 more, a Hiace Standard Roof Van gets that half-day back. For a one-off job, short-term vehicle rental at these rates costs less than keeping a company van that sits idle between jobs.
Which van size fits your load, and what does each size cost?
Pick the van by payload and cargo height, then look at price. Small panel vans take 752 to 890 kg from $115 a day. The Toyota Hiace High Roof Van takes 1,220 kg for $175.
Small panel vans: $115 to $145 a day
The Nissan NV200 carries 752 kg and is 4,400 mm long, enough for a studio flat move or a market stall’s stock. It’s also the only van C&P lists as manual only, so you can’t drive it on a Class 3A (automatic) licence. Need an automatic? The Peugeot Partner LWB (850 kg) and the Citroen Berlingo L2 (890 kg) are both 4,753 mm long, and the older 2017 to 2018 Berlingo L2 1.6A is the cheapest automatic van at $125.
Mid-size panel vans: $155 a day
The Nissan NV350 and the Toyota Hiace Standard Roof Van cost the same: $155, or $168.95 with GST. The NV350 carries 1,440 kg, more than any other van in the rental fleet. The Hiace Standard Roof carries 1,120 kg. Both are 4,695 mm long and just under 2 m tall. Most one-bedroom moves and trade-show loads fit in one trip.
High-roof panel vans: $175 a day
The Toyota Hiace High Roof Van is 5,380 mm long and 2,285 mm tall, carries 1,220 kg and costs $175 a day. So does the Renault Master. Go high roof when a wardrobe, fridge or display unit has to travel upright. Two things change at this tier. Own-damage excess goes up to $3,000, and the Hiace needs a car park entrance at least 2,285 mm high.
Passenger vans: $215 a day
The Toyota Hiace Standard Roof Commuter seats 11 and the Toyota Hiace High Roof Commuter seats 13. Both cost $215 a day, or $234.35 with GST. One 13-seat commuter does the work of two Toyota Estima MPVs, which would cost $430 a day together at C&P’s $215 Estima rate. Moving wedding guests between a church and a banquet hall? The planning is covered in our wedding van and minibus guide.
What is the deposit to rent a van in Singapore?
C&P Rent-A-Car takes a $300 deposit if you’re over 30 and $600 if you’re under 30. You pay it together with the rental charge when you collect the van at 41 Pandan Road, and C&P settles the balance after the van comes back.
The deposit covers what the daily rate doesn’t: a missed refuel, cleaning, traffic fines and damage up to the excess. To hire at all, you must be 23 to 65 years old with more than one year of driving experience, and every additional driver has to be declared at the counter. Say you’re under 30 and hiring an NV200 for one day. You’ll hand over $725.35 at collection: $125.35 for the hire and $600 as deposit.
At the counter, C&P accepts American Express, Visa, Diners, Mastercard and NETS for the deposit. Online bookings take Visa, AMEX or PayNow. Bring your NRIC and driving licence; foreign hirers bring a driving licence plus a passport or Employment Pass.
What does a van rental cost once delivery, fuel and fees are added?
Start with the daily rate. Then add 9% GST, a $30 one-way or $60 two-way delivery fee if you don’t collect at Pandan Road, a full tank of fuel and any ERP. A one-day weekday job in a Toyota Hiace High Roof Van goes from $175 on the rate card to $250.75 before fuel and ERP.
| Scenario | Van | Days | Hire with 9% GST | Delivery and collection | Refundable deposit (hirer over 30) | Paid at collection |
| Weekday office move | Toyota Hiace High Roof Van | 1 | $190.75 | $60 | $300 | $550.75 |
| Weekend flat move | Nissan NV200 | 3 (weekend minimum) | $376.05 | Self-collect | $300 | $676.05 |
| One-week stock run | Nissan NV350 | 7 | $1,182.65 | $60 | $300 | $1,542.65 |
Fuel and ERP excluded. Delivery fee as listed in C&P’s FAQ.
Every van leaves with a full tank and should come back full. Return it short and C&P bills an estimated refuelling charge. If it comes back unacceptably dirty, expect a cleaning fee of $50 to $300.
Watch the clock on return. Each rental runs in 24-hour blocks from your pick-up time. Collect at 10:00, return at 17:00 the next day, and you can be charged for a second full day.
Who pays ERP charges on a rental van, and how much are they?
You pay ERP, and it isn’t part of the daily rate. LTA charges light goods vehicles such as the NV200, NV350 and Hiace panel vans the same base rate as a passenger car. Small buses pay 1.5 times that.
On LTA’s base ERP rate table, effective 23 March 2026, the most expensive weekday slot on arterial roads and expressways is $6.00 per pass, between 08:35 and 08:55. A panel van pays $6.00 there. A vehicle on the small-bus rate pays $9.00. C&P lists both Hiace commuters as buses, so if you hire one, budget ERP at 1.5 times the posted rate.
For a move, the easiest saving is timing. Outside the CBD and Orchard cordon, most weekday expressway and arterial gantries on that table charge nothing between 10:00 and 17:00. LTA reviews ERP rates every quarter, so check the table again before a peak-hour run.
How much is a weekly van rental in Singapore?
C&P offers weekly and monthly packages but doesn’t publish a weekly van rate. Multiply the daily rate by seven and use that as your baseline when you ask for a package quote.
At list price, a week in a Nissan NV200 is $805 before GST and $877.45 with it. A Toyota Hiace Standard Roof Van runs to $1,085, or $1,182.65 with GST. With GST included, a week in the Hiace High Roof Van comes to $1,335.25 and the 13-seat Hiace High Roof Commuter to $1,640.45.
Past a fortnight, a lease usually works out better than stacking daily rates. C&P’s monthly and yearly van leases also allow Malaysia use. Daily hire doesn’t. If you run a people-mover every day, our guide to passenger van leasing for businesses has the numbers.
When do van rental prices go up in Singapore?
Prices go up on public holidays and festival dates. On peak dates, C&P adds $30 to the daily rate. Deepavali, Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa and Vesak Day carry a four-day minimum. Over the Formula 1 weekend, 9 to 11 October 2026, there’s no self-drive hire at all.
Deepavali falls on 8 November 2026. Hire a Hiace High Roof Van over that date and you pay for at least four days at $175, plus the $30 peak charge. That’s $730 before GST, or $795.70 with it.
Weekends have their own rules. C&P’s FAQ sets a three-day minimum for weekend hire. The Pandan Road counter is closed on Sundays and public holidays, so a van you take on Saturday can’t go back on Sunday. The counter opens 08:30 to 17:30 on weekdays and 08:30 to 12:30 on Saturdays, and van pick-ups run from 09:30 to 16:30. Collecting on a Saturday? Go in the morning.
What happens if a rental van is damaged?
You pay up to the excess, and C&P’s collision damage waiver covers the rest. Own-damage excess is $2,000 for the NV200, Berlingo, Partner, NV350 and Hiace Standard Roof. It’s $3,000 for the Hiace High Roof, Renault Master and both commuters.
If another vehicle or someone’s property is involved, a $2,500 third-party excess applies on top. On a high-roof van, one accident could cost you up to $5,500. Third-party cover pays up to $500,000 for property damage, with no cap on bodily injury. C&P doesn’t offer a zero-excess option. A scraped bumper on an NV200, with no one else involved, costs you $2,000 at most.
Before you drive off, walk round the van with the C&P staff member and mark every scratch on the check-out form. Any damage missing from that form gets billed to you. For breakdowns and tyre problems, call C&P’s 24-hour line on 9736 6666.
Which licence do you need to drive a rental van in Singapore?
You need a Singapore Class 3 or Class 3A licence, and Class 3A covers automatic vans only. The Singapore Police Force lists light goods vehicles such as vans, small buses and mini vans under Class 3 and 3A in its guidance on Singapore driving licence classes.
Class 3C is the one to check. The SPF issues it to foreign licence holders who convert through the theory test alone, and it only covers motor cars under 3,000 kg with seven or fewer passengers. So a 3C holder can’t drive any van on this page. A 3A holder can drive all of them except the manual Nissan NV200.
C&P adds its own rule on top of the law: more than one year of driving experience. If you passed Class 3A last month, the licence lets you drive a van, but C&P won’t rent you one yet. The 13-seat Hiace High Roof Commuter falls under the SPF’s small-bus wording, so bring the same Class 3 or 3A licence for it.
Is it cheaper to rent or buy a van in Singapore in 2026?
Renting wins unless the van works almost every day. A new van needs a Category C COE, which closed at $92,144 in LTA’s bidding exercise on 23 September 2026, up from $71,556 in September 2025. The COE alone would pay for 545 days of hire in a Toyota Hiace Standard Roof Van at $168.95. That’s before you buy the van, or pay road tax, insurance and servicing.
Category C hit a record $95,000 in July 2026. In a written parliamentary reply on 4 August 2026, Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow said Category C receives a 0.25% annual vehicle growth rate “to meet the operational needs of businesses”. He tied the price rise to electric heavy vehicle registrations, which climbed from under 1% in 2025 to more than 30% in June 2026, according to MOT’s reply on the Category C COE scheme. He also ruled out splitting the category, so van buyers still bid against electric truck and bus fleets.

What should you budget for a van in Singapore?
Your final bill depends on the dates and the extras as much as the van. A weekday in a Nissan NV200 costs $125.35 with GST. The same van over a weekend costs three times that, because of the three-day minimum. A Hiace commuter on a peak morning pays ERP at 1.5 times the car rate. Pick the van your load needs and book around the F1 blackout and the Deepavali minimum. Then have the $300 or $600 deposit ready before you get to Pandan Road.
Check live availability for the NV200, Hiace and Renault Master and book your van, or call C&P’s sales hotline on +65 6349 5299 for a weekly or monthly quote.
Frequently asked questions
How old do you have to be to rent a van in Singapore?
You need to be 23 to 65 years old, with more than one year of driving experience, to rent a van from C&P Rent-A-Car. Hirers under 30 pay a $600 deposit instead of $300. The same age rules apply to every van in the fleet.
Can I drive a rental van to Malaysia?
No, not on daily or weekly hire. C&P Rent-A-Car allows Malaysia use only on monthly and yearly leases, and its 2026 rate card bars every daily-rental vehicle from crossing into Malaysia. If you have an accident in Malaysia on a daily rental, you’re fully liable for the damage.
What happens if I return a rental van late?
C&P Rent-A-Car can charge a full extra day. Each rental runs in 24-hour blocks from your pick-up time, so a van collected at 10:00 and returned at 17:00 the following day counts as two days. On a Toyota Hiace High Roof Van, that’s another $190.75 including 9% GST.
Is petrol included in van rental in Singapore?
No. C&P Rent-A-Car hands over every van with a full tank and expects it back full, or bills an estimated refuelling charge. The daily rate covers unlimited mileage, third-party insurance and maintenance only. The 3.0-litre Toyota Hiace vans use more fuel per kilometre than the 1.5-litre Nissan NV200, so budget for the refill.
How much does it cost to rent a van for a month in Singapore?
At C&P Rent-A-Car’s published daily rates, 30 days in a Nissan NV200 would cost $3,760.50 with GST, and 30 days in a Toyota Hiace High Roof Van $5,722.50. C&P prices monthly hire as a lease quote, and a lease also lets you take the van into Malaysia. Get that lease figure before you compare providers.
